A CHRISTMAS PRAYER

18. December 2007, 00:40 | by WD Milner | Full Article |

As the holiday season gets into “full swing” I received a Christmas card today that brings to the fore the reason for this season of celebration.

The card wasn’t the usual pleasing winter photograph or warm red and green still life. It was a simple beige background with a red border with green vine, and in the middle of the cards was a simple prayer written by Helen Steiner Rice.

A gentle and pleasing reminder of what Christmas is all about.

Prayer

“Our Father, which art in heaven,”
hear this Christmas prayer
And if it be Thy gracious will,
may joy be everywhere —

The joy that comes from knowing,
that the holy Christ Child came
To bless the earth at Christmas,
for Thy sake and in Thy name.

From my family to yours — have a Merry and Blessed Christmas.
